Summer Interns Join Clever Devices
July 14, 2017
In late May, a new team of 13 summer interns joined the Clever Devices team for a rigorous 10-week internship program working in various departments and supporting multiple projects. With roles in Finance, Engineering, Project Management, IT, Product Management, Software Development, Deployment, and Services this year’s impressive team is already making significant strides and having a positive impact here at Clever.
“At Clever, we take our internship program very seriously. We are committed to making sure our interns are doing meaningful work in various disciplines throughout our organization. It’s important to us that they come away from their 10 weeks at Clever with real-world experiences that will help them develop their careers and enhance their academic goals,” said Linda Amper, Chief People Officer at Clever Devices.
Lehigh University Junior, Chad Kagan is finding the experience to be very positive. “The internship program at Clever has been a fantastic experience thus far. I feel as though I’ve been doing meaningful work for the data systems team, giving me real-world experience in the interactions between Clever and their clients. I’ve learned a ton about the CleverWorks system and just how much we offer to these transit authorities. However, the most exciting part of this internship has been the intern group project. Clever has given us the freedom and flexibility to create a fresh concept from the ground up, from brainstorming possible avenues for success to preparing a thought out presentation to the executives of the company. It has been a pleasure to work with this large group to birth a potentially profitable idea from scratch,” Kagan said.
This year’s college students come from colleges and universities up and down the East Coast and the Mid- West representing Williams College, Middlebury College, Bentley College, Lehigh University, Virginia Tech, Ithaca College, NYIT, Georgetown, Washington University in St. Louis, SUNY Farmingdale, NYU, Hofstra, West Virginia University and James Madison.
