John Santamaria Joins Clever Devices as Sr. Vice President of Rail

Former MTA/New York City Transit VP to lead all rail operations for the company

(Woodbury, New York, January 11, 2021) – Clever Devices announced that John Santamaria, the former Vice President and Chief Mechanical Officer of Car Equipment at New York City Transit, has joined the organization as Senior Vice President of Rail.

In his new role, John will concentrate on rail customer acquisition and project deployment to expand Clever Devices’ growing footprint in the rail industry. Leveraging his 20+ years of experience, John will also work closely with the organization’s product management and development teams to help define Clever Devices’ next-generation rail solution portfolio.

Mr. Santamaria spent 23 years with MTA/New York City Transit, where he was responsible for the maintenance and acquisition of all the New York subway system’s rail cars. A licensed professional engineer in three states, John is a well-respected member of the transit industry and the current Vice-Chair of the APTA Rolling Equipment Technical Forum and an active participant within the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) Rolling Stock subcommittee. He holds an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Computer Engineering.
