The increasing threat of cybersecurity attacks has led to a strengthening of information security programs across all industries. The transit industry is no different, but the cyber hygiene of the technology supply chain remains a soft underbelly of many security programs. Research conducted by the Mineta Transportation Institute (MTI) has revealed that while 80 percent of U.S. transit agencies say they feel “prepared” for a cyberattack, only 60 percent actually have a cyber-security plan in place.
