Clever Devices Automatic Voice Annunciation System Is Fully Compliant with the ADA

Clever Devices AVA technology makes fixed route or bus rapid transit (BRT) systems accessible to riders with impaired sight and/or hearing. Automated voice announcements alert passengers to upcoming stops, empowering the visually disabled to navigate the transit system to get to a job, a doctor’s appointment, shopping, or recreation. These voice announcements are fully coordinated with LED signage on board the bus to help both deaf and blind riders travel with more independence.

Clever Devices Automatic Voice Annunciation system fully complies with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). AVA comes equipped with volume control and voice modulation that automatically adjusts so announcements can be heard over people talking inside the bus as well as the street noises outside. And the AVA’s “stop request” feature allows visually impaired riders to easily signal the operator and ensure they don’t miss their destination.
